I dunno. It seems to me the above blog has been so mentioned or perused because of the cummulative effect of word-of-mouth. I just sat through one post (read: scrolled quickly through) and have come to the conclusion... that apart from the rather atypical swearing and the fantastic pictures and design, the writing isn't really that special.
Hmmm. Ok, by my admission, I have not gone through the contents carefully, and should not be so quick to come to a conclusion, but I just felt that it's funny that popularity means being able to stand out. Applying this logic to society and people in general, you'd be popular if people remembered you for a quality that most others don't have. Even if this quality isn't all that good. It's infamy turned on its head.
*sigh* And intellectual banter? Please don't bother looking for it among people at NUS. It's a very, very rare quality, especially so because it's so easily lost when it can't be sharpened against another wit. Do they even know the meaning of a double entendre? Also, there's a difference between intellectual banter and bitching. But if you're looking for the latter, there's plenty of them to go around. Hey, even the men have jumped on that wagon. And I suppose, in their own way, bitches are intelligent creatures. Haha... they'd have to be to say those things.
