I watched the Matrix today. Uh. It was okay. I don't feel like thinking any more about it, and I guess I didn't get too much out of it because I have this tendency to zone out when people give long speeches with lots of big words, which was quite often in the movie. Have to admit the sfx was fantastic, like the X-men, and the transition between computer animation and real time was very fluid. Only a few things to comment about the movie - seems a bit pagan sometimes, with this whole scene emphasizing on sensuality, all the dancing and sex and what not. Neo is a god and fighting the Matrix is a religion - Morpheus is one fanatic who believes so strongly he can't seem to accept any other path. Or perhaps he can't, having vested so much faith in it, without coming off as disillusioned. Some stuff I was wondering... why does Neo have to put his hand into Trinity to remove the bullet? Can't he suck it out the wound with his "Jedi-like" (As Azmi put it) powers he demostrated with the swords on the wall? Or would that have hurt Trinity more? I'm too tired to think anymore...
Went for dinner with the #medicine gang. I need to get a new pair of shoes... preferably some that don't put so much strain on my calves. We were assigning characters in X-men to #medicine chatters... Azmi's Bobby... Xuzi's Prof X. Heh.
Oh yeah, I realised that Colossus was Prof X's student. Yeah, okay, so that explains him... just never saw him with the X-men before... Rogue came to be an X-man after Jean Grey died. Ms Marvel got back her powers and became Binary... Man... if I read anymore of this I'm going to be one of those fans who scrabble around looking for old x-men comics.
