So, what is it about sex then?

Sounds like a strange question, no? But this topic has everyone mystified, turned on, repulsed, leery... and many other adjectives which I cannot name on the spur of the moment without a good thesaurus... hmm. or dictionary for that matter. But anyhow, I reiterate. What is it about sex?

I mean, many people seem to regard it as a highly enjoyable *recreational* (not to mention reproductive) sport. I'm sure it's enjoyable, myself never having experienced it, will take the words of those who have. But, even given that, aren't there other sports or activities more enjoyable than sex? Probably not, you say? Well then, if you've never experienced it, how would you know?

I dunno. I think i'm just very curious about why and how it's become such a powerful topic. It's something that people seem to have a lot to talk about. Apart from those who completely avoid and shun it, of course.

And what a tool it is. Use it to grab attention, use it to get what you want, use it to punish, use it to reward... Is the human race that deeply affected by physical activites? I'm sure the "enjoyment" isn't the only part of the activity.. What else about it makes it so special? Why don't all animals have sex for pleasure as well?

It sounds crazy to me... but sex seems to have become important. In the past it was just something... that happened. But now people talk about, analyse it, conduct surveys, give therapy for it. Are we placing more emphasis on sex?

I'm not sure where this discussion is headed... once again... =P
