It's insanely difficult to concentrate on studying when graduation is but a few months away. Also, when you have this inflated belief in your own ability to score for the test. However, let me draw your attention to a place that some of you may find familiar or know very well.
A lot of people *try* to study at the arts club room. There will always be someone playing a game there, regardless of how many other people are studying. Ergo, distractions. Worse still if a number of people are gambling/playing games that require extra players.
But I don't mind and don't care. I'm graduating this sem, my degree with merit is more or less assured. The only thing I DO mind is the somewhat hypocritical behaviour displayed by some people. They claim to be studying and fuss when other people make noise, yet THEY play the most and the hardest when there's no one to push them to work (not to mention make the most noise). It's hard for me to have any respect for you when you use "studying" as an excuse to opt out of doing other things (eating, for example, which IMO, is a ridiculous excuse considering what you do in ALTERNATIVE). I get the impression that some people would rather waste their time gambling (in particular the most distracting kind of game) then (Oh, I don't know...) studying for their exams. If you really feel that way, fine, but don't use studying as an excuse for getting out of activities such as meal times or social interaction. I can't help but think, hypocrite. Make the most noise about distractions but also make the most noise when playing.
Also, the arts club room... It's a place people go to when they WANT occassional distractions. Honestly, it's not a good place to study, because as I pointed out earlier, people are always playing one game or another, and the place is rarely quiet for a long period of time. And whatever time you saved not eating meals, going to the toilet or even just greeting someone... it's used for playing games. Go on and say that you need leisure time, but frankly, I feel if you spend more time at leisure than at work and neglect other duties, it's hard to believe that work is your first priority.
